There are shit weeks with no sales at all. Then, you wake up and check your phone to see that some saint in the West Village ordered five gowns last night and paid your entire rent for the month.

thrift store
True thrift stores (NOT expensive vintage boutiques -- they are often confused for one another in conversation) are oftentimes messy, chaotic and full of people. The payoff of a good thrifting day is so, so sweet though.
When I wandered into a Brooklyn thrift shop and saw this sweet brocade dress marked down to $27.99, when I tried it on and teared up as the zipper closed perfectly, I knew it was my wedding dress.
Can someone experienced in tailoring please tell me if I got gouged by the mean old man?
