To keep myself on the straight and narrow, and to ensure ongoing success at thrift stores and flea markets wherever I go, I now follow these basic rules.
Teaching kids about money is hard -- we should cut ourselves some slack.
Couponing? Well that was becoming another 20-hour-per-week job. I mean, sure. I got free stuff and saved money... And all those good deals? Well, they languished in our pantry because, really, what do you do with 10 cans of butter beans?
I get high off of bargains, from beating the system. It makes me feel self-sufficient, if not a little self-satisfied.
