I know that tantrums are annoying. I live with a toddler, I bear witness to anywhere from three to roughly five hundred tantrums a day. It doesn’t get easier. The screaming doesn’t become any more pleasant. It’s brutal. It’s also completely normal toddler behavior.
family drama
As a Muslim, I didn’t want my kids to decorate her Christmas trees. We argued, it was ugly, we stopped talking.
parenting
I feel pretty secure in the knowledge that not wanting my own children is not the same thing as being a heartless, selfish, baby-hating bon vivant.
unpopular opinion
Kids aren’t going to be traumatized by a stranger politely telling them not to do something that could potentially harm them, or is just a social norm.
pets
Where once I felt very protective as a pet owner, I now felt it was necessary to protect my human baby from my cat baby. And I didn't expect how sad that would make me feel.
moral dilemmas
Was I just being a crazy bird lady? Was I shoving my own beliefs down this family's throat? Should I just have minded my own business?

Plus, my new necklace that inspired today's wacky pre-school teacher outfit.

I mean it’s one thing to imagine someone harboring ill sentiments towards your child. But to actually hear those thoughts expressed with such clarity and vehemence?

Working moms, stay-at-home moms -- I think we’re all pretty hard on ourselves and are often questioning whether we’re doing the right thing.

Or else I'm just a huge weirdo. OH, NO, WHAT IF I'M BOTH?
unpopular opinion
I’m surprised at how much my Special Snowflake attitudes have eased my transition into motherhood. Not only that: in the long term, I think they’ll make me a happier, more effective parent.

Because feeder schools are successful at getting students into top-tier schools at the next level, many parents seek out these schools as a method of increasing their child’s chances of getting in. When it comes to highly competitive private schools, feeder schools are well known by both parents and school administrators.

"I'm just learning how sensitive people are, and sometimes they think that if you're doing something different, then you're judging them."

I swear if you sliced my last boyfriend open you’d find him to be 70% Del Taco, 20% gatorade and 15% frozen fish sticks. Also: he was bad at math.

A new study by a somewhat iffy researcher concludes that the higher a woman's IQ, the less likely she is to want children. Thoughts?

The hardcore workout venue is now offering classes for children. Some experts say it helps fight obesity and promotes healthy habits, but others think it's ridiculous.
sex
Is eight too young to learn about all this? Also, you won't believe how he thought babies are made.
happiness
For a woman, joy must be expressed carefully. Because to express your happiness too wantonly, too ebulliently or widely, is to risk a quick shutdown from those who are not experiencing the same happiness.
