For a woman, joy must be expressed carefully. Because to express your happiness too wantonly, too ebulliently or widely, is to risk a quick shutdown from those who are not experiencing the same happiness.

Sometimes I wish I were a complicated muse-type of broad who is supermodel-tall and once touched JD Salinger’s penis. Other times, I'm soooo glad I'm not.

If you should decide to host a little holiday gathering of your own, forget about trying to upstage anyone.
The rules of a “thought cleanse” are simple, and deceptively so. Think positive, don’t think negative, and think positive.
creative slump
I call these “inspiration breaks,” or “productive procrastination.”
