Drinking in the Office: London Jubilee Special!

Try this one at home (if yours is the kind of home, like mine, where Absinthe is a cupboard essential) and raise a teacup with us to Queen Liz -- congratulations ma'am!

Greetings from the UK xoJaners! We are currently preparing for a long weekend of flag-waving and drinking in celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. That's right, Her Maj has been on the throne for 60 glorious years and we thought it would only be appropriate if we emulated our dedicated co-workers across the pond (hi Julie and Madeline!) and created our very own "Drinking in the Office" video to mark this momentous occasion.

I unearthed my tatty and much loved copy of seminal drinkers' bible, The Savoy Cocktail Book, and found just the recipe; the Queen Elizabeth, which is made from:

- 1 dash Absinthe
- 1/4 lemon juice
- 1/4 Cointreau
- 1/2 Dry Queen (the Queen's favourite)

We covered my desk in as much royal-related patriotic crap as we could find and got to work. Try this one at home (if yours is the kind of home, like mine, where Absinthe is a cupboard essential) and raise a teacup with us to Queen Liz - -congratulations ma'am!
