YOU ARE THE ADVICE COLUMNIST: How Do I Stand Up To My Step-Mother (Or, Am I Just Being Selfish?)

I'm afraid I'm being a self centred, entitled person but this is one thing I cannot compromise on after years of bending to her wishes.

I've had a step mom for several years now and she's been instrumental in expanding our family business. It was tough initially but everyone helped out and now we're in a comfortable position. I'm the one my parents depend on regarding helping out.
My problem is this. I was going to apply to universities in the UK and USA under the impression that they would be paying for it (they offered) but now my step mom is adamant that she will not pay for me to go abroad because of an incident of me breaking curfew. I've tried talking, even grovelling for her trust in this but she is adamant and I feel like my wishes never come first. I'm also worried that she's being selfish wanting to keep me here to help with the family business.

Should I move out and support myself? What are my options? What do you guys think I should do?
