So, I was only vaguely aware that my Dr. Phil episode was airing today, or I would have let you guys know so you could check it out. I will not be watching it, and I'll be trying to avoid any kind of public feedback on it, as I've already received way more input on my experience than was good for me.
I'm also not allowed to write much about the experience; you sign something pre-show to that effect. Suffice it to say that I was treated totally professionally and no one tried to pull anything that I wasn't expecting. It was still completely terrifying, which is why I look like I'm about to puke in the above screenshot. Luckily, my best friend from high school came along to hold my hand in the green room and summon the producers when I had a last-minute freakout about some of the wording in the waivers I was signing.
Also that that cardigan was literally taped to my hands to make sure none of my tattoos were showing! They don't allow any visible tattoos on air.
If you're interested, check out the clip below. I think even the DP haters among you can agree that he kept this one pretty classy. Also amazing was how brave and kind the women from the "I Married a Rapist" segment were -- they gave me and the suspected victims of their husband hugs and kudos after the show. You can read the original article about my rapist friending me on Facebook here.
