The jazziest of the jazzy: raffia T-bar heels with coral trim from ASOS.com
That clever Victorian John Ruskin said, "All lovely things are also necessary" which supports my belief that fashion can (should) make you feel amazing, as it's the most democratic expression of beauty, individuality and creativity there is. With this in mind, I am starting a series of galleries featuring you in your favourite items of clothing. I want to see the stuff that makes people stop you in the street and ask where you got it from (isn't that the loveliest feeling? I must do that more, but am usually too shy.)
To get things started, I photographed a selection of my own battered and much loved footwear. Here you can see my current favourite raffia T-bar ASOS shoes with coral trim and an assortment of other pairs, including: the tatty New Look two-tone brogues that Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman ooh-ed over when I interviewed them, my trusty APC navy biker boots and the bubblegum pink patent Miu Miu courts I got married in.
Tonis Got Sole espadrilles, H&M Conscious Collection Mary Janes, New Look brogues, vintage pumps, APC biker boots and Miu Miu pumps.
Completing the circle are a pair of coral espadrilles from Toni’s Got Sole, H&M Conscious Collection Mary Janes and some vintage navy and white heels. Sadly I can't show you my all-time favourites - the slightly rancid Adidas Gazelles I wore to see Oasis play Knebworth in 1996 - because they mysteriously 'vanished' (anything you'd like to tell me mum?)
And for those of you who don’t get the whole shoe-obsession thing, do not fret – in the following weeks (months? years?) I’ll be asking you to share pics of other fashiony items with the class.
