Put A Hat On It

Naked heads are simply not acceptable in the fall! (Unless you have remarkable head heat, that is).

I never met a hat I didn't like. Well, this is almost 100 percent true, but I can say that I never saw an Albertus Swanepoel hat that I didn't like. Swanepoel is a greatly talented milliner whose hats have appeared on the runways of designers like Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler, Carolina Herrera and Narciso Rodriguez among others. But since we aren't all made of money, I'm super stoked that he's doing some awesome hats for J.Crew this fall.

I'm particularly DYING over the cloche in the first image. The almost degraded effect in the wool is amazing, and while I don't know what that brown patch of fabric is doing here, I love it and I welcome it with open arms.

Fedoras have been getting a bad rep lately -- though I think it's mostly because lame dudes keep rockin' em and giving them a bad name -- but a classic one in an irressistible shade of raspberry can really up your fun factor once winter rolls in. He's also included a beautiful floppy hat in his J.Crew collaboration, but I stil haven't quite figured out how to wear the style in real life anywhere other than the beach. Watch out for when I do, though, cause I will be flopping everywhere!

And in case these styles are still a little steep, fear not: He's also doing a collaboration with Target which hits stores this October.

More hats please!
