JULIE FINDS IT FOR YOU: Bootie Call! The Footwear You Want Under $200

"I live in NYC. It snowed major this weekend, which made me sweaty with the knowledge that I really need boots now. Boots with the fur, perhaps. Boots that are water and slush proof. Boots that I can comfortably do my morning 1 mile speedwalk to drop baby at babysitters and then climb several flights of subway stairs. Boots that can be exchanged for heels at the office (that's what files drawers are for, btw), but not too goofy, ugly that I will be embarrassed to run into fashionable types in the elevator before I get to that shoe drawer in the morning. And boots that don't scream SNOW! so I can wear it on just really cold days without looking weird because there is no snow in fact."

Zara Pointed Ankle Boot, $100.
"Can you find me a high-heeled black boot that looks expensive, but isn't? I've looked everywhere!!"

MICHAEL Michael Kors Bromley Boot, $140.
I need some boots for winter. Here's the problem: I don't do heels (not even a wedge). I don't spend over $200 on a pair of shoes. And I only wear comfortable shoes. That limits my options! I've been looking all over and can't find what I want.

Cheap Monday Monolit Wedge, $115.
"I want a cheap, comfy wedge boot to replace my Jeffrey Campbells from last year? Something original that stands out. Please and thank you!"

"First let me say I am very anti-uggs. However, I need a boot I can slip over bare feet that will cover my cropped leggings and make me weather-appropriate for my mid-winter trips to Pilates. Something I can slip in and out of fairly quickly. I’d say about 99% of the ladies wear uggs to the classes and then there are those of us struggling with our socks and leather boots – which then means I’m running forever running late in the morning. So any suggestions for non-ugg fuzzyish slip-on boots?"

Marais Chelsea Heel Boot, $145.
"I can't really buy more than one pair of boots right now so I need something inexpensive that doesn't look cheap that I can wear with everything."

"Where can I find brown/cognac riding boots with buckles. I'm 5'2" and everything's too tall for me! Plus, all the boots I find look like pirate boots on me, I have really thin calves and they all gape at the calf. I've spent HOURS looking online, going bonkers searching for a freakin' pair of boots... and I can't pay like, $400 either."
