Wearing one color head-to-toe made me feel, yes, a little crazy, but in a good way.

For years, I've been honing my style into what I like to call "mentally ill pinup." Basically, that incorporates lots of loud crazy colors, ratty hairstyles and clashing prints in classic shapes. Oh Bettie, did you forget to take your pills again?

So when I saw this Loreal Paris ad in which a model wears two different shades of pink, I thought, "That's for me!"

The Inspiration:

I already had the basic pieces in my closet, and I even have pink high heels! I decided to give the look a shot.

I liked it so much that I decided to try other monochrome looks, like green:

Wearing one color head-to-toe made me feel, yes, a little crazy, but in a good way. Daring! It's just so intentional, and style is 90 percent commitment! Commitment to a look, not commitment to a mental institution. But the line, she is thin. Straddle it!
