I'm pretty simple when it comes to bags. My everyday choice is something that can fit magazines, notebooks and maybe an extra scarf or cardigan. But when it's time to get fancier, I'm always attracted to clutches; those classy but impractical bags that become a bother by the end of the night when you are trying to drink and dance and are annoyed that you have to hold on to it. Here are my favorite ones from the fall 2011 collections.

Sometimes you just gotta embrace that you can only bring lipstick and your phone to an event and get a little crazy, like with this old-school pencilcase inspired clutch by Christopher Kane.

A classic rectangle clutch in a mix of geometric patterns and super luxe skins from Dries Van Noten.

Proenza Schouler continues the vibe of their school-inspired accessories with this agenda-style clutch.

Snakeskin makes another appearance at Prada, this time oversized and carried like a high school Trapper Keeper.

Victoria Beckham's yellow-and-black clutch looks like it's full of important documents and probably fits an iPad, making it perfect for the cool business woman on the go.

Miu Miu's plush oversized coin purse is a little ridiculous but also too cool for words.

Houndstooth makes an appaearance in a cool oversized envelope clutch at Salvatore Ferragamo.
