Today I woke up and wondered if maybe someone had spiked my face wash with male hormones. What? You never know!

Whenever I think my skin has reached its acne pinnacle, it goes and surpasses my expectations! Today I woke up and wondered if maybe someone had spiked my face wash with male hormones. What? You never know!

Anyway, I have dinner after work and unlike darting around at an event or a party, sitting across the table from someone really puts bad skin on display. For nights like these, my face needs next-level coverage. Here's what I use:

Correction: IT Cosmetics by Jamie Kern are mistakenly referred to as Jane Iredale.

"Did you have your makeup done professionally?" asked Corynne when I was finished. The same Corynne who once compared my Kenzo shoes to lucite stripper heels. This woman is uncensored and so her compliments are extra valuable.

THE PRODUCTS:

image

Giogrio Armani Face Fabric Foundation, $49: If you spend on only one makeup item, this stuff is well worth the investment.

It Cosmetics by Janie Kern Dual Powder Brush, $48: Unlike a flat foundation brush, a powder brush creates a really even airbrushed finish.

Shiseido Pureness Oil Blotting Papers, $18: Most blotting papers are created equal. I happen to love these because they came from China Chow's makeup bag.

Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Concealer, $22: Strong enough to hide a tattoo without looking cakey, this cover-up is perfect for severe under eye circles and blemishes.

IT Cosmetics by Jamie Kern Bye Bye Pores, $24: A really fine translucent powder that sops up excess shine and never looks obvious.

IT Cosmetics by Jamie Kern Jumbo Powder Brush, $58: The fluffiest, more indulgent brush I've tried. It's expensive yes, but when cared for correctly, brushes can last forever.

Shiseido Oil free Bronzer, $35: Makeup genius Suzy Gerstein put me on to this months ago when I asked her about contouring. It truly is one of the most believable bronzers I've tried.

Now since I never tire of talking about acne, what do you use to cover yours?
