The new year is finally upon us, HALLELUJAH!

2013 was a total joke, wasn’t it? I have never been happier to greet a new year with open arms, or whatever. I don’t usually make new year’s resolutions because I’m not exactly great at following through with anything, but this time around, I do have a few goals for the upcoming year. They include: Making my Instagram more mysterious, wearing at least 2-3 more accessories with every outfit, and more champagne. Not necessarily drinking more champagne, just, you know, having it around.

Oh, and taking better care of my cuticles!

My cuticles: the ten best friends a guy could have

I’ve talked before about how I’m always beating my hands to death, and it’s the same story with my cuticles. If I’m not diligent about it, they become dry, ragged, and covered in hangnails. NOPE.

The obvious benefit of having better cuticles is giving yourself better manicures. Polishing a hand with cuticles that are hydrated and well taken care of is so much easier than battling it out with ones that are dry, uneven, and cracked. You’re able to achieve a better, cleaner manicure.

To keep my cuticles soft and presentable, I use a couple of products throughout the day (whenever I remember to) and they help keep me ahead of the game.

cuticle oil lying SENSUALLY on my bed

Cuticle oil is one of the most important tools when getting your cuticles back into manageable shape, and this is one of the best. It comes in a typical nail polish bottle, so you liberally brush it right on, rub it in, and get on with your life. It’s made with Sweet Almond Oil, Vitamin E Oil, and Ginseng, so it smells great and sinks in without leaving a greasy film on your fingers. I use it at least twice a day, after I shower and before I go to bed, to keep my skin hydrated and soft.

I’ve used a bunch of other cuticle oils in the past, but this is the only one that I go back to without question.

WE THREE CREAMS

My homegirl Jenna Hipp is known as the Celebrity Green Nail Stylist because of her commitment to creating eco-friendly nail color and products, and she also happens to be Hollywood’s most sought after nail artist. She’s worked with literally everyone. It’s easy to see why everyone wants her, because every product she releases is perfection. Remember her collection of nude polishes with RGB? Flawless.

It’s no surprise that Jenna’s Nail & Hand Cream is one of my new mainstay products.

I mean, for one, look at these tubes. How cute are they? I don’t even care what is in them, I will use it.

The hand cream is made with 20 percent shea butter so it’s thick and seriously nourishing. Myrrh extract helps strengthen and protect nails, and natural essential oils provide a very light fragrance. Best of all, the cream is formulated without parabens, dyes, or artificial fragrances. The super thick cream feels amazing and sinks in almost immediately, leaving your skin hydrated and protected without feeling greasy.

The Jenna Hipp Nail & Hand Cream comes in packs of three 4oz bottles so you can keep one at home, one at your office, and on in your purse! You can grab them exclusively through CostCo. Also, what is CostCo?

Wanna know how I got turned on to this product? YOU GUYS. Y’all we’re singing its praises up and down the comments section so I had to try it out, and now I see what all the fuss is about. What I like most about this product is that it’s totally portable, so I have no excuse to ever be without it.

This cream comes in a pan about the size of a silver dollar (I’m actually not sure if I’ve actually seen a silver dollar in real life so I'm just guessing) so I can slip it right in my pocket and rub it on any time I get a free second.

The Burt’s Bees Cuticle Cream is more of a cuticle balm, in my humble opinion, but since I vehemently hate word “balm,” we’ll stick with cream, k? It’s a very dense cream, so you’re going to be able to get a lot of use out of it. This is also made with Sweet Almond Oil, as well as Cocoa Seed Butter to moisturize and Sunflower Oil and Vitamin E to nourish brittle nails, this little cream can be your secret weapon when you’re on the go, keeping your cuticles soft and so sexy.

I love, love, love these three products, and so do my cuticles. They feel better than ever!
