It's gonna get sappy up in here.
I'm sorry that this week's beauty news is getting posted a bit later than usual, but I've been extremely busy BEING A SUPERFAMOUS CELEBRITY CAT DOPPELGÄNGER FINDER.
I had no idea that my observation would become a "viral sensation." I also had no idea that Reddit and Imgur users would post it without giving me credit (thank goodness for timestamps, amirite?), that former xoJane editor Emily would end up adopting him, and that anyone in their right mind would think the comparison is an insult to either Adam Driver or the cat. For the record, I think both are extremely handsome.
But aside from the fact that faces are involved in this foofaraw, it is not beauty news. The following things are, however.
If you love Linda Rodin's lip balm, you'll probably love her lipstick
Rodin Lip Balm is one of those minimalistic cult lip balms that effortlessly cool chicks I have nothing in common with love. Well, I mean, I have one thing in common with them, and that's my love of Rodin Lip Balm.
So, needless to say, I'm excited to try Rodin's next lip product: lipstick! Linda Rodin is introducing five shades — a true red, a dusty pink, an orange-red, a hot lilac-y pink, and a plummy wine — in the indefinitely near future.
They're not ready to ship yet, but you can preorder them on oliolusso.com.
"Once the lipsticks are complete, you will be among the first to receive them," the site reads. "In the meantime, and in thanks for your loyalty, we’ll send you a special treat of Linda’s clear plastic Lip Balm ring as well as a handy set of lip-shaped lipstick swatches so you can see yourself wearing them."
YOU HAD ME AT PLASTIC LIP BALM RING.
Ashley Tisdale is launching lipstick, too, among other makeup things
Can you believe it's been 10 years since High School Musical? I can't, because I was already too old to care about it a decade ago, so that just means I'm 10 years older than someone who was already too old to care about High School Musical 10 years ago.
Anyway, the kids are all grown up and doing stuff, as kids that grow up tend to do, and Ashley Tisdale's latest "stuff" is the launching of a makeup brand, Illuminate by Ashley Tisdale.
Unfortunately, you can't look at any products yet. BUT you can sign up to get an email when they're ready for their big retail debut.
Natalie Portman pretends she needs to enhance her skin for the latest Dior beauty campaign
I'm definitely interested in trying Diorskin Forever. It's a three-step lineup that involves a primer, a matte foundation, and a loose powder, and it sounds goddamn delightful.
"It allows me to look like me — just an enhanced version," Natalie Portman, the brand's celebrity spokesperson, told Vogue UK, presumably holding in a huge laugh over how ridiculous it is to imagine that her face requires enhancement of some sort.
For the rest of us, though, the products are now available at various fancypants retailers.
Bravest. Massage. Ever.
The Buzzfeed "Test Friends" work hard and deserve massages, but they're also crazy people, so they got massages via snakes.
Even if this idea totally creeps you out, all five minutes of the video are totally worth watching. From snakes to snacks!
Makeup inspiration can come from anywhere. In the case of makeup artist and self-proclaimed "bald headed bearded bitch," Tim O, it's junk-food packaging.
He's also done looks inspired by a Pop-Tarts box and a Takis bag, and I'm hoping he's got more planned.
- What food packaging would you like to see turned into a makeup look?
- Whose lipstick are you more excited about, Rodin's or Ashley Tisdale's?
- Would you get a snake massage?
- That cat totally does look like Adam Driver, though, right?
