Salon quality nails without the salon quality small talk!
I’m not the type to spend an hour on my nails; I’d rather
pay someone to do them for me if I want them to look amazing, plus there's a hand massage included. But my
fascination with nail polishes starts when the weather starts cooling down. It
may be because I have the option to stay inside and actually do my nails
instead of going out and being a normal person.
It’s been about five months since I've worn nail polish, and as
an ode to the gray and cloudy skies of winter, I have chosen to change that and wear as
many shades of gray possible this season.
Gray is muted, but it definitely
stands out. I've got two shades of gray on me right now. Essie's Master Plan and OPI's Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine! (I took them from
my old roommate! Hey, Mary Rose!)
Master Plan is a soft gray with barely-there hints of lavender
and taupe. I hate when grays are too green! My last manicure was a gray
that looked basically green, and I had to correct people and say, "No,
this is gray! See?!"
Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine! is a really dark gray. I guess you can say it has a tiny hint of green, but
it's way subtle, right? I may be lying to myself.
I can never decide between a light or dark polish. Part of
me wants to be subtle, and the other wants to stand out in a sea of everyday
polishes. I’m always battling my inner beauty demons when I see so many
polishes in front of me.
So instead of choosing one, I decided to use both! Because, why not?
I used Master Plan on my left hand and Nein!
Nein! Nein! OK Fine! on my right. Do I look like an indecisive idiot? I think not! I actually
love the way it looks. My hands have different personalities, like the wife and the
Anyways, what are your favorite shades of gray? Aren’t
you glad you’re not my roommate because I’ll steal all your nail polish?
