Salon quality nails without the salon quality small talk!
We're celebrating TWO birthdays today here at xoVain! Both myself and Marci were born on the same day in the same year, a mere 14 hours apart. We're Time Twins!
I visited xoVain's offices a few weeks ago, and Marci and I started noticing similarities. We both have prominent beauty marks on our faces in similar places, we have attached earlobes, we're both addicted to beauty; I even improv-coached a guy in New York that she used to babysit in Florida! And the more I get to know her, the more the similarities I notice.
I wanted to do a fun tribute to me and my Time Twin on our birthday, but even with all the ideas I came up with, I kept coming back to our moles. Moles and dots brought me to one of my favorite artists, Roy Lichtenstein and his use of Ben-Day dots.
So I decided to do Lichteinstein-inspired Happy Birthday Ben-Day Nails!
Here's what I used:
- Essie Turquoise & Caicos
- OPI Need Sunglasses?
- Essie Play Date
- Orly Passion Fruit
- Essie Butler Please
- Zoya top coat
- ASP Nail Art Brush Set
- Dotting tool
Let's do this!
Remember, the biggest factor when it comes to successful nail art is patience. Just like the S.O.S. Band said, "Baby we can do it, take the time, do it right." In fact, you can listen to that song while your nails dry.
Speaking of songs, my Time Twin and I will be rocking both coasts tonight with practically simultaneous karaoke birthday parties. So if you feel the earth quake it's only because we're both rocking our bodies down to the ground Michael Jackson-style.
