Nude pink lipsticks may lack the look-at-me factor of brighter, bolder lip colors, but where they fall short in intensity they soar in versatility. Also, you can't deny the natural plumping effect a good nude pink gives off. Here's a look at my five current favorites for spring.

Sonia Kashuk Satin Luxe Lip Color SPF 16 In Pink Buff, $9.99

If true nudes wash you out, consider this lip color; it’s mostly nude but it has a hint of pink that’ll save your look from entering zombie territory. The formula is light and buttery and it leaves my lips feeling soft. I have to reapply after about two hours, but it’s not a big deal for me since it glides over my lips so easily and it’s wallet-friendly. I find that it works amazingly well with smoky eyes.

Lorac Alter Ego Lipstick In Duchess, $16

The look of this matte, highly pigmented and long-lasting warm pinky beige lipstick reminds me of a toned-down version of Kylie Jenner lips. Formula-wise, it was my least favorite, as it's a bit dry (like many mattes) and it settles on my lips if I don’t prep with lip balm. I actually don’t mind the extra step since I really like the color.

Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick in Sheer Liar, $22

This sheer-but-buildable neutral pinky-brown lipstick works really well for daytime paired with groomed brows, eyeliner, and some powder. I normally don’t like shiny lip colors because they don’t stay put, but this one lasted about four hours and was hydrating. This was probably my second favorite of all the lip colors I tried.

Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel In Eat Cake, $30

This was more pink than nude, but it still registers nude pink on my skin tone. It boasts a lightweight, non-drying gel formula and has good staying power (about four hours). Because of the pink and shiny finish, it has more of a sweet, as opposed to sexy, vibe.

NARS Audacious Lipstick In Anita, $32

This last shade is the darkest and most expensive of the bunch, but it’s also my favorite. It’s a deep, semi-matte, muted rose with a hint of beige that also finishes as a nude pink on my skin tone. Because it’s a richer shade, it’s more of a statement nude pink in person. It amps up my natural lip color and is long lasting (about four hours), opaque in one swipe, non-drying, easy to apply, and comfortable to wear.

Products & Swatches

I picked these five nude pink lip colors because they work for me, but your perfect nude pink may be warmer, cooler, or browner. You can easily find your ideal nude pink by pulling down your bottom lip and looking at the color above your lip area.
