Since I'm a visual person I hardly ever remember the album title but I just remember what the album art looks like.
The makeup bag in my purse is filled with approximately 19 products. It takes up more space than my wallet, phone, and array of tampon absorbencies combined. So over it.
Wouldn't it be nice--amazing, wonderful, glorious, even!--to slip one palette into your bag and still be covered in any makeup situation?
Enter these four multi-tasking makeup palettes, any one of which can get you through a full day of touch-ups.
Armed with one of these babies, the only other necessities you need to pack are mascara and a makeup brush or two (and Vaseline in the case of the the last two palettes).
Real Techniques Night Owl Makeupkit
Despite its name, this palette is amazing for night AND day. I like to wear a light smoky eye (using the pale and purple shades) with the nude gloss and a light sweep of blush for day. At night I take it up a notch with a classic smoky eye, red lips, and intense cheek contour. The included gel liner is perfect for a subtle line, as well as a dramatic cat-eye.
Divergent Multi-Piece Collector's Set
Okay, I didn't see the movie, but I give the palette five stars. The shadows are perfect for creating a sensual, neutral smoky eye, while the blush and bronzer are entirely buildable to customize the intensity of your look. And the nude-pink gloss? Flawless. I would know, because I'm a ghost in almost every nude shade.
Tarte Rainforest After Dark Colored Clay Eye & Cheek Palette
Anyone who knows me knows that I fall for packaging--100 percent, every time. But color me impressed: this gorgeous, circular palette is more than just a pretty face. I can easily get dozens of eye looks out of the six blendable shadows, which range from eye-popping and bold to girl-next-door. I want to kiss the creator of this palette for filling it with such huge pots of blush, bronzer, and highlighter. Swoon! (For a blush-colored lip, see my Vaseline hack below.)
ULTIMATE CHALLENGE: Naked Flushed Palette in Naked
Why, yes, you CAN do your whole face with a contour palette. Don't believe me? Mix together the bronzer and highlighter for eye color; use the bronzer as subtle eyeliner; and apply the bronzer, blush, and highlighter as you normally would.
Here's my hack for lip color: scoop that Vaseline tub out of the bottom of your purse and mix it with a bit of blush. Voila! A DIY pink lip.
What do you think? Could you go a full day with just one palette? What are your favorite palettes to carry on-the-go?
