The secret to this bold, sapphire shape? Makeup-remover wipes and a fingernail.

Every once in a while, I will find in my collection (or purchase) a shadow so pretty that I want to build an entire look around it. This was the case with the Makeup Geek Foiled Shadow in Center Stage. This intensely metallic sapphire shade really makes my eyes pop, so I’m using it to create an easy night-out look.

To start, I primed my eyelids with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden. I used a really healthy dose of this because the MUG Foiled Shadows tend to crease on oily lids without primer; the pigment is kept together with oil, which gives it a lovely, intense sheen, but it can be a pain without heavy-duty primer.

I put the shadow all over my lid to just above the crease, extending it out into the beginnings of a wedge shape.

Once I packed on the shadow, I started creating a sharper, slightly wedged wing by taking a makeup-remover wipe and carefully wiping away shadow until I got the shape I wanted. You can wittle yours into as thin or as thick of a wedge as you wish. I “shaved” mine down until the shadow was barely above the crease and extended out.

With a black gel liner, I thinly lined just the upper lash line, added a couple of coats of mascara, and used a shimmery champagne shadow to add an inner-corner highlight.

If you want to amplify the eyes more, you could line your lower lash line as well; personally, I like the contrast of not having anything on the lower lash line.

I applied my foundation and concealer and then did a very soft contour using the lightest contour shade in my Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit. I added a soft pink blush and a nude lip gloss to cap off the look.

Here are some of my favorite looks of yours from last week:
