I don’t really go out much these days, but I always love any excuse to get my glam on. New Year's Eve is usually one of the times I can get extra-fancy, and I especially love to go glitzy with my eye makeup.

After I primed my lids, I applied a dark brown, matte eyeshadow in my crease and down on to the outer third of my lid with a stiff blending brush.

With the same brush, I took a shimmery berry shade and went back over the same area extended out just above the crease and just outside of the V shape I created.

Using a fluffy blending brush, I took a shimmery nude shade and blended out the area above the crease.

Next, I took a dampened shader brush and added a gold glitter from the inner corner of my eye to where I stopped the shadow on the outer portion of the lid. I also added a bit of a warmer gold shadow over the top of the glitter to hold it in place.

I wanted the shadow to have a really sharp shape on the outer corner so I took a makeup remover wipe and cleaned up all of the fall-out from the glitter and sharpened the edge of the shadow.

With an angled liner brush and a black gel liner I lined my upper lash line extended it straight outwards from the outer corner of my eye to create a little bit of negative space between the sharp angle of my eyeshadow and the liner.

I lined my lower lash line with that same gel liner and extended it at a slight angle downward under my inner tear-duct area.

To add some more drama to my look, I smudged along the underside of my lower lash line with that same berry shadow I used before, added mascara to the upper and lower lash line, and added some accent lashes to the outer corner of each eye.

For my lips, I used a rosy-brown lip liner, rosy-brown lipstick, and topped it off with a bit of pink lipstick.

I finished the look off with a soft pink blush and a little soft contouring through the cheekbones and along my forehead.

Here are my favorite looks from last week:
