look of the week

If it wasn’t for Facebook, I would probably forget to say "happy birthday" to at least 75% of my friends. I am horrible at keeping track of dates, which is why I’m not the least bit surprised that I missed Look of the Week’s birthday.

That’s right, our baby turned one in September. September! So in belated celebration of that (and because I am currently super-sick and can't muster a new LOTW this week), I am recapping my ten favorite LOTW posts from the last year.

10. The First LOTW

I was so excited to get LOTW underway and I actually tasked those of you who follow me on social media with helping me decide between two looks. Ultimately, I landed on this fall appropriate, dark lip/matching eye combo.

9. Goth Ballerina

I like looks that walk the line between soft and edgy, and I liked this one because I thought it looked kind of darkly romantic.

8. Smoky Space Babe

This was pretty experimental for me at the time; I don’t usually wear cool tones, I and avoid frosty lips like the plague. I had a lot of fun stepping out of my comfort zone, though.

7. Bettie Page Bangs and Classic ‘50s Makeup

I had a lot of fun giving myself faux Bettie Page bangs and you can’t go wrong with a classic red lip/cat eye combo.

6. An Intense Yet Easy Night-Out Eye

You guys know I love a well-blended eye look, but I love this because it’s more about a sharp, singular focus on the eyes.

5. Graphic Black and White Liner + Purple Hair, Don’t Care!

I’ve switched up my hair a lot over the past year, but this purple has been one of my favorite hair changes. I am also experimenting more with graphic liner looks thanks to you guys!

4. Kristen Stewart’s Cobalt Smoky Eye

Red carpet looks provide endless inspiration for me when it comes to makeup, and I loved recreating this look for LOTW.

3. DVF’s Bright But Sweet NYFW Makeup

I loved the colors of this look and thought it was one of the more wearable NYFW looks that I’d seen in a while.

2. A Smoky Eye With Both Warm and Cool Colors

I love a good smoky eye, so I’m always looking for ways to mix it up a little bit. I thought adding the little pop of blue in the center of the lid made this look really pop.

1 .Pretty Peacock-Inspired Eyes

This has been my favorite LOTW thus far because I had so much fun playing around with all the bright colors in my Electric Palette.

Here are my favorite looks from last week’s thread:

What is your favorite LOTW so far? Do you like looks that are more neutral or that use bright colors? Let me know in the comments below or on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
