Here in the US, we're getting ready to celebrate Independence Day on Saturday, and while that means a lot of things to a lot of different people, my fondest memories of July 4th always involve grilling outside and watching my dad set off a plethora of fireworks. You seriously haven’t seen pure joy until you’ve seen my dad with a firework on the ground and a lighter in his hand.

So, in honor of my country’s independence, I’m adding a touch of the good ol’ red, white and blue to my look of the week.

Although I enjoy all of the variety of colored fireworks, the gold, glittery kind have always been my favorite. I used to watch those fireworks spread in the sky like golden sunbursts and just be completely in awe. I wanted to add a bit of that golden fun to this look so I took an angled brush and applied a golden cream shadow to my upper lash line.

Once I had the sparkling situation handled, I traced along the outer third of my upper lash line with blue liquid liner extending into a wing.

I added a dash of white to the underside of that wing and smudged it softly along my lower lash line with a q-tip.

I started out the whole look with my base and brows already done so I finished the eyes first with a healthy dose of black mascara on my upper lashes and secondly with a little bit of blue mascara over the top.

For the lips I added NARS Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella and layered CoverGirl Lip Lava in Live Love Lava over the top for some added sparkle and shine.

I finished the look by applying matte bronzer as a blush.

Here are my favorite looks from last week:
