As someone who can't do mornings, cheek stains are the best thing to happen to me lately. Fumbling with a million powders and brushes is a total nightmare when I'm in a rush.

Relate? Well, here are some cheek stains that are so easy and portable you can toss them in your purse and apply them on your way.

Tarte Cheek Stain, $36

Tarte Cheek Stains have been around for ages, and there’s good reason for that. These are the lightest, most gorgeous, push-pop-style cheek tints around.

Sweet and fruity in scent, these bad boys are super-easy to toss in your purse and get on your way. The screw-on caps are genius as they won’t pop off, leaving your bag and its contents protected from any mishaps. The creamy and long-lasting formula won’t dehydrate your skin, but it still sticks to it, you know? I touch my face a lot, so I need something that doesn’t feel heavy but will last, and this did.

Natural Beauty is a sheer rosy red. Buildable and soft, this is a gorgeous addition to a summer tan and some contour.

For more a subtle look, I LOVE Tipsy. It’s a shimmery coral, which doubles as highlighter, making it even easier to get out the door in the morning.

Becca Beach Tint, $25

Need a more vibrant, long lasting formula? Beach Tint's tiny tubes pack a serious punch, so be very careful when dispensing the product. You only need a tiny, TINY dab of this incredible pigment on your cheeks for a gorgeous, waterproof glow.

Be more careful when blending this out, too, because it is so pigmented and buildable it can get heavy quick. Be sure to tap your fingers along the edge to really blend it out for a flawless look. Once it’s on, it’s on. It’s pretty hard to get this stuff off even with soap, so it’s a perfect bet for a hot, sweaty day.

Fun fact: This is a lip and cheek tint, so try applying some to your lips with a brush (when you have more time) for seriously long-lasting lip colour.

I’ve blended the product on the left, you can see how pigmented this really is. Be sure to blend that edge out or you’re going to get a pretty solid line. The good news? I found it way easier to apply this by tapping it on with my ring finger (versus a brush), so it’s definitely something you can do while sitting on the subway or streetcar.

Papaya is more of a bright orange, and is VERY easy to overdo on fair skin like mine. Dragonfruit is a vibrant, girly pink—think cotton candy on your cheeks without the sticky sugary meltdown. I found this melded beautifully with my skin tone. Perfect for a day on the boardwalk or when I want to look extra-sweet and innocent (ha!).

  • What cheek stains do you use when you’re on the go?
  • Have you tried any of these products? What did you think of them?
  • Praise the twist on cap! Speaking of, do you have any makeup/purse mishaps? I mostly lose mints to my purse.
