'Tis the season to hit the treadmill. Or the pavement. Or the elliptical. You get the picture.

Instead of throwing your hair into a regular ol' ponytail (which also works when you're super duper in a rush), consider finagling a "hair sculpture" of sorts that's sure to incite admiration from fellow gym-goers (or at least yourself, because that's all that really matters).

Now, I'm all about simplicity, especially when it comes to hair, and especially when it comes to gym hair. That's why these three hairstyles take less than three minutes to create. Work it, girl.

Gym Hairstyle 1: Textured Topsy Turvy

I recommend making the braid as tight as you can, as it'll be easier to manipulate in the next steps.

My hair is medium length, so I had to loop my hair through the hole twice. If your hair is shorter, you probably only need to do this once. If your hair is longer, repeat as necessary.

I'm using clear elastics for this because it's what I had on hand, but I love the idea of doing neon ponytail holders of varying colors, or even all of the same shade. Scrunchies may be overkill with this, but girlfriend, I say do what moves you. Or do what makes you move, as would be the case.

You can secure the very end with a ponytail holder, as well, but I kind of like the end to be "free." Free the ponytails, people.

Gym Hairstyle 3: French Braided Bun

You could actually stop here if you wanted, or braid out the rest of your hair. I think it looks kind of cute this way, but let's just keep going.

If you have really long hair, consider doing a sock bun or messy bun. My hair is medium-length and lends itself to a simple twisted bun or chignon. For those of you with short hair, you could create the side braid, secure with an elastic and then pin it to your head.

As I said, these gym hairstyles are all super easy and, dare I say it, basically foolproof. Let me know what your gym routine looks like, and please don't hesitate to share a gym selfie below if that's your thing. Speaking of gym selfies, am I the only one who takes pictures of myself post-workout *just* for myself? Because I feel good and I feel like I look good, but the world really doesn't need to see my bright red, super sweaty face.
