Sensual, Earthy Home Fragrances for When You're Over Sugar and Florals

I don't know how they did it, but one of these smells exactly like a heavily wooded, slightly wet, fairytale forest.

Don't get me wrong. I love sweet, floral home fragrances, and around the holidays I have no shame where pumpkin spice candles are concerned.

What I love year round, though, are either super sudsy clean scents -- like freshly laundered linen fragrances or a sharp, fresh florals -- and ultra sensual, earthy, masculine scents. I've carefully curated a selection of home fragrances that fall into the latter category.

Rosy Rings Driftwood Candle

Out of all the home fragrances I'm sharing today, this Driftwood candle by Rosy Rings ($29) is easily the lightest. I recommend it for someone who doesn't like overpowering scents, or if you live in a small space that's easily inundated with fragrance.

The scent is difficult to describe, but I can tell you it's equal parts clean and earthy with this enticing layer of sensual softness. It's part of the brand's Beach Tin collection.

Voluspa Suede Blanc

This Voluspa candle ($29) smells straight up like cologne and I couldn't be happier about it. The notes are "buttery soft sueded leather" and "rich cedar." So basically... it smells like a leather couch -- inside of a cedar-wrapped room -- that's been worn down over the years by the butt of your choice sexy man.

I'm a fan of the ceramic vessel, which has a slotted opening that let's the candle's scent emanate even when it's not lit. There are other options available, as well, if you want something simpler.

Paddywax Bergamot and Mahogany Candle

I am obsessed with this Paddywax candle ($37) for two primary reasons: the scent and the container. It's is a clean, earthy, musky, sensual fragrance that makes me feel warm and fuzzy every time I light it, and I can have it going for hours and not feel overwhelmed by the scent.

It's a three-wick candle, and the bright, coppery-metal tin that it's housed in is so lovely. The flames flicker against the tin to create a really relaxing, perfectly lit ambiance, and the wood top is a nice touch.

Rosy Rings Botanical Reed Diffuser in Forest

This is another one by Rosy Rings, and the only diffuser I'm talking about today. People... I don't know how they did it, but this damn thing smells exactly like a heavily wooded, slightly wet, fairytale forest.

The bottle is gorgeous, obvs, with pieces of real hemlock cones and sprigs of leptospermum (AKA teatree). I know it's spendy at $56, but the fragrance will last you nine to 12 months.

Lelo Black Pepper and Pomegranate Candle

Talk about sensual candles. *wink wink*

This Lelo Black Pepper & Pomegranate ($35) candle doubles as body oil once the wax starts melting, so either you can get handsy with a friend or give yourself a massage. And the brand seems to be a fan of either option, seeing as how they sell vibrators on the website, as well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Regarding the fragrance, it's not super strong by any means. It has a slightly peppery, slightly citrusy thing going.

Sabon Majestic Potions Fireplace Candle

Last item on the list: Sabon's Fireplace Luxury candle ($26), which packs a ton of fragrance into a tiny jar. It's a truly warm, sensual, masculine scent that's super woody and spicy. The scent will fill up your space surprisingly quickly.

Speaking of which, I wouldn't dare light this candle during the daytime hours unless I'm taking a bubble bath in a dark bathroom. Rather, it's the perfect candle for those late, red-wine laden evenings.

Can you think of any candles that would be a good addition to this list? I'm always on the prowl for this kind of fragrance, which isn't as easy to come by as the sugary, floral stuff!
