The votes are in, the ballots have been counted, the electoral college has been...surveyed or whatever. Can you tell I hate politics? The point is, I asked
and you obliged, by tweeting your crazy suggestions to
and leaving them in the comments of my post.
Which the wonderful, Mondo-esque
pretty much ignored when I arrived at the
at 6:30 last night. But admist all the "purples" and "checkerboard" and "Neopolitan ice cream" looks some of you assholes suggested, the two overwhelming themes of your recommendations were RED and OMBRE. So I think William's vision of peekabre, aka a peekaboo (bottom layer) ombre fading from chestnut brown to a mauve-y, cherry cola red, fits the bill. I'll let him explain it to you:
According to William, "edgy hair" is kind of over and "pretty hair" is in. "I love pretty hair!" echoed Johanna. Speaking of pretty, William also specializes in vintage looks like the one you may be planning for your upcoming wedding. Because the only part of wedding planning I care about at all is WHO'S GONNA DO MY VICTORY ROLLS, SON?
EDIT: I forgot to mention that we spent like 75 percent of our time together talking about Christina Aguilera and how much we love and adore her as she is in this very moment.
The Seagull Salon is every bit as awesome as you'd imagine a salon co-owned by a member of Le Tigre would be. Speaking of which, I've now met all 3 members of Le Tigre, thus thoroughly impressing my 17-year-old self. It gets better, kids!
Basically, the whole experiment was super fun, and it was Seagull's actually-kind-of-insane web presence that made the whole thing possible. We seriously didn't plan this at all -- it just kind of evolved and they totally rolled with it.
or real-time examples of what they do including this
that captured quite a few of your imaginations.
Speaking of capturing imaginations, how great is this person?
YES. Castrate the hair! So intense. Here's what Johanna had to say about it all:
In summation (yep, this is the kind of writing you get from me on a Monday morning), thanks
and thanks xoJaners for making what could have been a routine hair appointment feel super intense! and exciting! I hope you like the results. I know it's not purple.
Oh yeah, and @msemilymccombs.
