I am a freelance writer who spent 15 years in finance crunching numbers before pursuing my passion to play with words. My work has appeared on wholeliving.com and in Northern Virginia Magazine. I like to write about life so if you don’t want to read about yours, don’t tell me about it. But I do write about my own journey on The Skinny DC Writer blog.
What I Do, Job-wise: I tell stories.
What I Do, Fun-wise: I like to eat, watch reality TV, read great books, attend live theatre, eat some more, observe my surroundings for more writing material and peruse fashion magazines for items a freelance writing salary can’t buy.
My Motto: Believe it and you can achieve it.
My Anti-Motto: Expect the best but prepare for the worst.
The First Movie Star I Ever Had A Crush On: Shemar Moore. No one before him counts. My “celebs to make out with” list: I’d like to make out with my crush. Who can make that happen for me?
The Most Played Song On My iTunes: Right now it’s “Adorn” by Miguel.
Last Book I Read Without Skimming Any Parts: I recently reread Sister Souljah’s “The Coldest Winter Ever” since she just released a sequel. I needed to brush up on the characters.
My Most Worn Item of Clothing: I’ve worn my Old Navy, navy flip flops so much you can see my toe prints. But they’re comfortable and can’t be replaced.
Beauty Products That I Hoard: I keep multiple tubes of Chapstick stashed in my purses and pockets and I’m somewhat addicted to MAC eye shadow. I smell like: I love The Body Shop’s shea body butter and Dove’s plum and sakura body wash. Don’t worry. I don’t smell like a cocoa buttery-flowery garden.
I Have Faked An Orgasm (Yes/No): Yes. I just needed to get it over with.
