Soniah Kamal

Soniah Kamal’s debut novel An Isolated Incident follows an idealistic teenager across Kashmir, Afghanistan and the US as he sets out to save the world, and himself. Soniah grew up in England, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and lives in the US. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Cosmopolitan, The Rumpus, xoJane, Huffington Post, Akashic Thursdaze, Bengal Lights, Sugar Mule, in ArtsATL where she has interviewed authors such as Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Edwidge Danticat, Jean Kwok and Thirty Umrigar. Soniah is the recipient of the Susan B. Irene Award from St. Johns College, and is the 2014 Paul Bowles Fiction Fellow at Georgia State University where she serves as Fiction Assistant Editor for Five Points: A Journal of Arts and Literature.
