I’m the author of a contemporary romance series called the Recovery Trilogy—I'll Become the Sea, Snowbound with a Stranger and Fault Lines. I write stories about real women with real problems who have lots of hot sex with nice men. I’m a Vassar graduate and a former community organizer and public school teacher, and I live in Brooklyn, NY with my husband and children.
What I Do, Job-wise: I write racy, realistic romance novels. And I teach.
What I Do, Fun-wise: Hang out with my hot husband and our two super-sweet children. Talk about serious things with my girlfriends and then laugh about it. Read. Gaze adoringly at nature. And when I feel like it, I run.
My Motto: Be brave.
My Anti-Motto: Be silent.
The First Movie Star I Ever Had a Crush On: River Phoenix in Stand by Me
My “Celebs to make out with” List: I don’t really want to make out with any particular celebrity. But I’d like to have coffee with Louis C.K. and Sinead O’Connor. Actually, it would be fun to set them up on a blind date. Hear that, you two? You should date.
The Most Played Song on my iTunes: Carina Round’s “Girl and the Ghost”
Last Book I Read Without Skimming Any Parts: Brenda Ueland’s If You Want to Write
My Most Worn Item of Clothing: My old gray hoodie
Beauty Products That I Hoard: Burt’s Bees lip balm. When it’s more than six feet away from me, I panic.
I Smell Like: According to my son, peaches
I Have Faked an Orgasm (Yes/No): Nope. And in fifteen years with my husband, I’ve never needed to. Aw yeah!
