Laura Barcella is xoJane's weekend editor. She hails from Washington, DC, and fantasizes about living just about everywhere, including L.A., Brooklyn (her former stomping ground), Philly, Nashville, Austin, Portland, Seattle, and Baltimore.

In her spare time, she writes freelance stuff for a wide variety of outlets. She's a contributing writer for The Fix, and has also written for Salon, Esquire.com, Cosmopolitan, the Village Voice, Time Out New York, NYLON, ELLEGirl, BUST, Bitch, and the Chicago Sun-Times.

She's the author of the book The End: 50 Apocalyptic Visions From Pop Culture That You Should Know About...Before It's Too Late (Zest Books, July 2012), and the editor of Madonna & Me, an anthology of women-penned personal essays about Madonna (Soft Skull Press, March 2012).
