Jenée is recovering corporate lawyer and freelance writer. She's a contributing editor at The Root.com, where she provides daily commentary on the intersection of race, politics, pop culture, and just about anything else that comes up (In other words, when something crazy happens and everyone else get to say "SMH," she has to write something coherent). Admittedly obsessed with race and relationships, Jenée has analyzed political significance of Michelle Obama's hair, how color plays out in online dating, and the "black marriage crisis." She's contributed to Time Magazine and MSNBC, and her commentary has been featured on NPR. She's from Mill Valley, California and based in Washington, D.C.
