Dr. Holly Jacobs

While attending graduate school, Dr. Holly Jacobs became a victim of revenge porn, a form of online harassment in which an individual posts sexually graphic images without the subject’s consent. After running into so many dead-ends in her efforts to get help from the police, FBI, attorneys, and Internet specialists regarding her case, she eventually took matters into her own hands and launched EndRevengePorn.org in August 2012 and its parent non-profit organization, the Cyber Civil Rights Initiative in August 2013. Through EndRevengePorn.org, she has been advocating for legislation against revenge pornography and providing resources for victims of it worldwide. In the one year since its inception, she has initiated legislative sponsorship of 9 State bills as well as a Federal bill in the United States, helped thousands of victims, and launched a global movement to raise awareness about and put a stop to revenge porn.
