Billy Gil is a music writer in Los Angeles. He also plays guitar in the band Crystales and DJs at various bars around town, just to cap off the hipster-trash trifecta. He has written for Amoeba Music, OC Weekly, LA Record, NME.com, Home Media Magazine and Daily Variety. He doesn’t just write about music — he wrote more than 2,000 words about Austin, Texas’ waste collection, for instance. Once he interviewed David Lynch and giggled like a schoolgirl throughout the whole thing. Another time he interviewed this really cool musician and he finished the phone call by saying “peace, man.” He’s gay and a guy, but don’t ask him about musicals or sports because he knows diddly about either. He would love to have a dog someday.
